The Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology at IUPUI invites applications for a full-time staff position as an Academic Laboratory Technologist to begin July 1, 2020. This position will remain open until filled. The Academic Laboratory Technologist position is primarily responsible for the supervision and running of the undergraduate Organic Chemistry teaching laboratories that enhance the teaching mission of the department. This position involves the coordination of the purchasing of and preparation of reagents, solutions, and apparatus primarily for the organic chemistry laboratories. Supervision, instruction and training of teaching instructors and part time instructors in undergraduate organic chemistry laboratory courses. Occasional design and implementation of laboratory experiments. Management of collection, labeling and removal of hazardous waste, preparation and testing of laboratory demonstration materials and equipment as necessary.
